My name is Laura. Born and raised in Calgary. I am a civil engineer and I work for an oil and gas company. Hobbies include: wishing I owned a cat, cooking, traveling, and of course reading. I was invited to join the Women from Away in Season Two by my sister, Nicole. I only knew a few of the members in advance of joining. The book list for the season drew me in, and the conversations at the meetings have kept me coming back. I enjoy reading books I may not have found on my own. Even more so, I enjoy hearing the opinions and experiences of this diverse group of women.
