Lindsay

My name is Lindsay Peters, and I love when people assume that I’m only in a book club for the purpose of getting together with girlfriends to drink wine. I quickly correct them: we actually discuss our books (passionately, for hours on end, often) … we also happen to drink wine and catch-up over the course of the evening.

I have loved reading from a young age – my parents love regaling friends with how “book” was literally my first word as a baby. One of the reasons I love being a part of The Women from Away is because it keeps me accountable to do something I love (reading!), but can all-too-easily put on the back-burner when life gets busy. I also love the community, the opportunity to learn from my incredibly intelligent and diverse new friends, and of course, the snacks and wine! ;)

I am a professional interior designer working for a local architectural firm in both the residential and commercial sides of the industry. I love books for their capacity to transport me into a thousand different lives in a thousand different locations in a thousand different time periods.
